It really wasn’t even too long ago that I last blogged and so much has happened in the world. We all are feeling the affects of the COVID-19 virus and it has had some scary moments. I feel so much for all the couples who have had to alter their original wedding plans. Some have had to postpone to completely different seasons, some have to find new venues…there has been a lot of rearranging and I’m amazed at how everyone seems to be handling things.
Nikki and Drew like many couples have had to do, they have changed their original wedding plans around and while I know there has been some anxiety in the decision making, in the end I know that they are going to have a beautiful day together tomorrow in the comfort of their own home. And I am so excited for them! Drew is such a caring gentleman and Nikki has such an energy about her that instantly makes me feel so myself around her. We somehow think the same way about so many things!
Since I slacked on blogging and their wedding is tomorrowwww, I wanted to share with you all the great time we had along with their kids at The Inn at Vint Hill. It was my first time there and I was so happy to have finally visited! I also didn’t realize that I live fairly close to the venue and it’s also by one of my favorite coffee shops!
It was right before the holidays when I met Nikki, Drew and their four boys met me at the Inn and we were able to take portraits inside as well as outside. It was great that they let us use the venue because it was cold! Sunny luckily, but cold and pretty windy at times. The boys range from 4-16 years old and seriously were total troopers getting their portraits taken! I don’t have boys but I can imagine they’d much rather run around and/or play video games.
Nikki, Drew and myself spent the remaining time together inside The Inn taking advantage of the beautiful holiday decor that they had placed. From there we spent some time walking outside where Drew spinned Nikki and held her close. I loved how he would place his hands on her chin ever so gently and just look at her. Those are some of my favorites personally! We ended our shoot on the patio and I loved how you could see the twinkly lights in the background as Drew holds Nikki.
I’m really looking forward to seeing them all tomorrow! Unfortunately it will only be for a few short hours and I won’t be able to hug them like I would love to since we need to keep our distance. We have spent a lot of time communicating on how to safely document their ceremony.
